Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme
Being isolated from school can be an incredibly challenging experience, as it often means missing out on social interactions, academic learning, and the sense of community that comes with being part of a school environment.
Not all children are suited for full time boarding school far away from their family home. As each child has unique needs, personality traits, and circumstances that can influence their ability to thrive in such an environment. For some, being away from home and family for extended periods can cause feelings of homesickness, loneliness, or anxiety, making it difficult for them to focus on academics or form strong social connections.
Monday-to-Friday boarding can be more ideal than long-term boarding for several reasons, as it strikes a balance between the structure of a boarding school and the emotional comfort of being closer to home. With Monday-to-Friday boarding, students can experience the academic rigor, extracurricular opportunities, and independence of boarding school life during the week, while still maintaining strong family connections and support over the weekend.
Did you know you could be eligible for financial assistance if you live a certain distance from your local school, or the school bus service is more than 4.5km away from your home? The financial assistance provided will cover the full cost of your child’s boarding fee at Leichhardt House.
